The adventure, the discovery, the emotions, you can live all those feelings during this circuit through the South of Madagascar. Mainly done by car (4WD vehicle), the trip includes the visit of towns like Antsirabe, Fianarantsoa, Tuléar and Fort Dauphin.

By its name, this circuit is mostly focused on areas in Madagascar which are rich in precious and semi-precious stones. However, the cultural tourism is also one of the great interest of this tour by permitting you the encounter with the Betsileo people ; Fianarantsoa, the Zafimaniry people and their distinctive craftsmen's poducts, the Mahafaly and their ancestral customs, Tuléar and its multicultural races (Vezo, Mahalafy, Antandroy, etc) The discovery of many workshops, the visit of specific manufactures like the "anteimoro" paper manufacture, etc.

Of course, this circuit also satisfies your thirst to discover the natural fauna and flora by visiting three of the most famous reserve in Madagascar :
Ranomafana, Isalo and Amboasary, and especially Andoahela near Fort Dauphin.

ANTSIRABE's town is known by the presence of its several hot springs and its clever craftsmen who shape the precious and semi precious stones into internationally famous gems. Even only those two aspects are already worth the visit in Ansirabe.
The large avenues, the palace of "Hotel des thermes" where King HASSAN II lived during his exile, with its colonial architecture and its nice gardens, the colonial houses and especially the numerous rick wheels, all of this constitute the charm in Antsirabe. On the way to FIANARANTSOA, the stop in Ambositra allows the tourists to appreciate the Zafimaniry's ancestral art through the visit of sculpture workshop and the "marquetteries". The town of Ambositra is known as the capital of wood art but this area is also rich of history past and few traces still exist scattered through the region. The Antefy mount (1845 m high) offers you a splendid panoramic view of terrace rice fields and plains. Then, the visit of Ranomafana reserve and its hydropathic establishment is an opportunity for you to discover few endemic plants and particular animal species.

Your next stop is the great ISALO area with the visit of the National Park where you can appreciate the particular specificity of the relief with its sandstone massif that was eroded through the centuries. The results are the impressive canyons and the unusual peaks which altittude vary from 515 m to 1268m. The fauna and flora are well adapted to this rough relief and the tourist attractions are numerous like the natural carved stone known as the "Queen of Isalo", the natural swimming-pool, the natural window of Isalo, etc.

Of course, you can also meet some lemurs like the "maki".

TULEAR is the place where the word multicultural is well suited because of the many races you can meet there as the Vezo, the Masikoro, the Mahafaly, the Antandroy and others.

The three museums (South Malagasy Arts and Traditions Museum, Tuléar University Museum and the Ocean Museum) are the opportunity to do unusual encounter with the Coelacanthe (the oldest living fish) and the famous Aepyornis eggs (giant eggs from a particular ostrich that used to live in Madagascar). From Tuléar, your escapade to Ifaty allows you to take advantage of seeing the lagoon, the coral reef, the natural aquarium and its many fish species, an enchanted atmosphere and an enchanted site.
