ANTANANARIVO
- TAMATAVE - SAINTE MARIE - ANTANANARIVO
|
This
great journey allows you to discover the preciosity
of colours, the clearness of waters, the beauty
of sites carressed by the sea with a tinge of
sky-blue colours, the exuberance of tropical forest
and finally the exotic perfumes of spices. It's
the craddle of sensations and emotions.
Your
circuit starts with a visit of the National Park
of ANDASIBE - MANTADIA
which will be your first encounter with a typical
malagasy highland of fauna and flora. The park
of Andasibe offers all the characterictics of
a wet tropical forest.
You
can appreciate the fauna and flora thanks to the
track network fitted out through the lower hills
which also permit an easy observation of lemurs,
especially the biggest of all : the Indri lemurs.
The green lake is also a good place for animals
watching (frogs, chameleons, birds, etc)
|
|
The
continuation of your East coast tour will lead you to
the area of Pangalanes channel, a navigable way that
links Tamatave to Mananjary. Your stay also includes
a visit of a private reserve where you can meet again
some lemurs and endemic plants.

|
TAMATAVE,
the second city and the first harbour port in
Madagascar will seduce you by its animation and
welcoming. The town modernisation has let however
few remains of the colonial history of Tamatave
as appear few of its colonial house architecture.
The two markets named "Bazar Be" and
"Bazar Kely" are excellent places for
trading and discovering numerous local products,
from colourful textiles to craftsmen goods. Thanks
to the climate humidity,
the gardens and the walks are magnificient.
|
Your next stop will amaze you by its calm, quiet and
simple atmosphere, this place is known as Nosy Boraha
or also well-known as "SAINTE
MARIE" Island
The
island is a true and vast natural tropical garden
where rare plants such orchids exist with common
ones such as tropical trees like coconut palms,
mango trees, etc.
The scent, a mixture of fresh breeze and rare essence,
will enchant you as well as the beauty of beaches
; especially during your excursion to the "mat's
island," few historical vestiges remained to
remind the visitors the rich past of this island
which became nowadays one of the most important
tourist destination. |
